I LOVE SUSHI

After a delicious celebration dinner at Genroku I realized that I REALLY LOVE SUSHI....everything about it makes me happy and excited. I then said to myself, "Does anyone love sushi as much as I do?". The Answer....absolutely.

Outsmarted again....

I heard the elusive rat rattling in the bottom draw of my oven today. I devised an ingenious plan to turn the stove on and thus coax the rat into the trap and spring it myself with a broom handle. You should have seen me perched up on the counter, broom in hand, trying not to breath. The rat did indeed make an appearance....it stuck it's little head out and then ran around my trap that was a mere inch away from the stove and into the hole next to the dishwasher. I go so frustrated that I shook the dishwasher back and forth, thinking that perhaps it was clinging to the side of it and would be shaken off and have to run back into the stove and we could try again. Alas, it has yet to return. Next time I know what to do but I'm getting mildly annoyed with the high intelligence level of this rodent. Jonny told me to look for a chef hat next time because he's pretty sure that the rat from Ratatouille is residing under our dishwasher.....

The Rat

Our house is currently full of people, dogs, cats.....and a rat. We've had a mouse problem lately and so when Jonny started yelling that there was a huge mouse in the kitchen, I really didn't think much of it. To my astonishment, when I pulled the stove away from the wall a rat the size of a small cat flew out of no where and ran into a hole in the wall. We....oh wait, I can hear it in the wall.....

Ok, so back to the story. After my staff meeting last night, Jonny and I went to Lowe's and bought a live small animal trap so we can capture the rat and then release it in a wheat field or something....whatever, just as long as it's not in my house. I set it up last night with a tasty half of a granny smith apple smeared with some peanut butter. Then, we waited.

I awoke this morning to find that the stupid rat had taken the apple, left the peanut butter and escaped. After fuming for a bit about this stupid genius rat with peanut allergies, I devised a plan. In my kitchen at this very moment is a trap with a piece of apple wired to the top on the inside. That way, the stupid rat will have to stand on the trigger plate to reach it's precious apple and I will be the VICTOR!!! Updates on my progress to follow.....

I read an incredible blog (http://nieniedialogues.blogspot.com/) that got me inspired to update. Hopefully this one will stick and I can continue to post fun and interesting things for your amusement. I will post a proper post in a bit, but first I need to take some photos for it :)
